Health care education consortium created by community colleges

The community colleges of Howard, Frederick and Carroll counties have formed the Mid-Maryland Allied Health Care Education Consortium to enable students from one county to enroll more easily in selected programs at the other two colleges.

Students would pay the in-county tuition rate regardless of where they live.

A session about the consotium will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Carroll Community College in Westminster. Information: 410-386-8435.

Northfield Elementary plans carnival Saturday

Northfield Elementary School will present "The Carnival of the Millennium 2002" from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on the school grounds.

Tickets are four for $1. Food, inflatable rides, games, booths, crafts and performances are planned. The Washington Children's Harp Ensemble will perform.

College Information Night at Atholton on Monday

Atholton High School will hold a College Information Night at 7 p.m. Monday in the school cafeteria.

Students who attend any public or private high school in the area and their parents are invited to attend. The school is at 6520 Freetown Road, Columbia.

Homeschool Community meeting today at library

The Columbia Homeschool Community is holding its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. today at the east Columbia library, 6600 Cradlerock Way, Columbia.

The topic will be "How To Design a Homeschool Curriculum for Your Child." The meeting is free and open to the public.
