Red Sox update

Boston enters this series with the second-best record in baseball, trailing only the Seattle Mariners. The Red Sox have won six in a row and are 8-0 on the road. They join the Mariners (10-0) as the only unbeaten teams away from home. Significant changes were made to the roster over the winter, but holdover Shea Hillenbrand has been the early catalyst with a .349 average and 20 RBIs. At least the Orioles miss Derek Lowe, who carried a no-hit bid into the eighth inning of an April 5 game at Camden Yards. But Frank Castillo held them to one hit over six innings the next day, and Pedro Martinez completed the sweep with his first victory after a poor start on Opening Day. The Orioles were held to three runs and 12 hits in the series. Erickson allowed four runs and seven hits in eight innings.
