Man killed Friday in double shooting identified by police

The second of two men fatally shot early Friday on a Northwest Baltimore street was identified by city police yesterday, but investigators reported no arrest and the motive for the shooting was unknown.

The victims were Emory Rhyne, 51, of the 900 block of Coleridge Road in Baltimore County's West Edmondale area, who was identified yesterday, and Wayne D. Cavanaugh, 40, of the 4100 block of Mondawmin Ave., described by relatives as a "skilled office worker."

They were standing in the 4000 block of Mondawmin Ave. about 12:45 a.m. when each was shot multiple times by an unknown assailant. Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Greg MacGillivary at 410-396-2100.

Recovery Councils of Md. to hold community forum

"We Recover Together: Family, Friends and Communities" will be the theme of a community forum Wednesday sponsored by Recovery Councils of Maryland, a project of the Maryland chapter of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.

Photographs of Mexico are on display at college

DUNDALK -- A photograph exhibit of images from Mexico -- Mis Imagenes de Mexico -- will be shown today through May 21 at the Dundalk campus of the Community College of Baltimore County, 7200 Sollers Point Road.

The exhibit will display the work of Katie Calkins, a photography teacher at Patapsco High School and student teacher at CCBC Dundalk.
