Helpers sought for Downs Park's 20th anniversary

Downs Park is planning for its 20th anniversary celebration, scheduled for June 23.

Volunteers are needed to help with the day's events. Anyone interested should call the park by May 1.

Spring events: Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company will hold a basket bingo at 5 p.m. tomorrow. The cost is $12 in advance, $15 at the door for nine chances at 20 regular games. An indoor-outdoor flea market will be held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 11, with crafts and food. The cost for vendors is $8 for an outside table, $12 for an inside table. 410-360-5575.

Craft fair: Downs Park, 8311 John Downs Loop, Pasadena, will hold a craft fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27. More than 60 crafters will display handmade items. 410-222-6230.

Bull and oyster roast: Emmanuel Lutheran Church will hold its 11th annual bull and oyster roast and dance from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. April 27 at Kurtz's Beach, 2070 Kurtz Ave. in Pasadena. Tickets are $25. Proceeds will benefit church projects. 410-255-4141.

Golfing: Jenkins Memorial Church in Riviera Beach will hold its annual fund-raiser golf outing May 20 at Rocky Point Golf Course in Baltimore County. The entry fee is $70. Entry forms and payments must be received by Thursday. Proceeds will benefit the church building fund. 410-761-9385.

Fund-raiser: Bello Machre, a Pasadena-based nonprofit organization that supports people with developmental disabilities, will hold a fund-raiser, "Every Step Counts," for hikers, bikers and walkers June 8 on the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail. The event will start at 9 a.m. at the B&A Trail at Jumpers Hole Road and Ritchie Highway, behind Premier Cinema. 410-255-3805.
