Equity, diversity discussion slated

Forum set in Columbia's in River Hill village

Residents are invited to join River Hill High School, the Howard County Office of Human Rights and the River Hill Village Association for a discussion on diversity and equity issues affecting the River Hill community.

The community forum will be held from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the meeting room, adjacent to the River Hill pool, 6330 Trotter Road, Columbia.

The meeting, which will focus on the experiences of minority groups in the community and related social, cultural and economic issues, will include a discussion by a panel of students, parents and residents.

Citizens panel, leaders of PTA to meet with board

The Board of Education of Howard County will meet with PTA presidents and members of the Citizens Advisory Committee to the board to discuss issues and concerns in an informal setting at 7:30 p.m. today in the boardroom at the Department of Education, 10910 Route 108, Ellicott City.

The board will hold a regularly scheduled meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday in the boardroom. The afternoon and evening session, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will begin with a public forum, during which individuals can address the board on any topic.
