McKinnon has big day as Navy drops Mount

Eddie McKinnon scored three goal and had two assists as No. 14 Navy defeated Mount St. Mary's, 10-5, in a nonconference game yesterday in Emmitsburg.

The Midshipmen (6-3) led 6-5 at halftime and shut out the Mount (3-9) in the second half.

Josh Warfield led the Moutaineers with two goals. Joe Bossi and Scott Gaiser each had a pair for Navy.


Salisbury 19, Marymount 7: Abby Cooper scored four goals and Lindsay Blount had three to lead the Sea Gulls (8-5) past the visiting Saints (7-8) in the quarterfinals of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament.

Gettysburg 16, Western Maryland 8: Erin Mulhern scored four goals and added an assist as the Green Terror (8-4, 3-3) fell to the host Bullets (11-3, 7-1), ranked ninth in Division III, in a Centennial Confernece game.

American 15, Mount St. Mary's 5: The Eagles (8-5) used first-half runs of three and six goals to amass a 9-1 lead en route to downing the visiting Mountaineers (6-9) in a nonconference matchup.

Catholic 8, Goucher 7: Ashley Snyder scored three times as the Gophers (6-7) fell to the Cardinals (10-7) in the quarterfinals of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament.
