Kathryn M. Warren, 82, homemaker, barmaid

Kathryn M. Warren, a homemaker and former tavern employee, died Monday of undetermined causes at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. The Forest Hill resident was 82.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Kathryn M. Cannan attended public schools. She worked as a barmaid at the old Band Box in the 1300 block of N. Charles St.

She was the widow of LeRoy A. Warren Sr., a steamship captain whom she married in 1953.

He was captain of the S.S. Poet, a freighter that vanished in the Atlantic Ocean near Bermuda during a 1980 voyage from Cape Henlopen, Del., to Egypt. No trace of ship or crew was found.

Services for Mrs. Warren will be held at 8 p.m. today at Evans Funeral Chapel, 3 Newport Drive, Bel Air.

She is survived by a son, LeRoy A. Warren Jr. of Forest Hill; three daughters, Lori A. Knopp of Jarrettsville, Gail Von Bussenius of Woodbine and Victoria Moffitt of Forest Hill; and nine grandchildren.
