Sister Arlene Schuldt, 66, registered nurse

Sister Arlene Schuldt, a nurse and member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, died Thursday of complications from diabetes at her order's retirement community in Aston, Pa. She was 66.

Born and raised in Baltimore, she was a graduate of Catholic High School. She earned a degree in nursing from the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing before entering Sisters of St. Francis in 1958.

She later earned another nursing degree from Neumann College in Aston and also studied at Union Memorial Hospital. She was a registered nurse at what is now St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson from 1975 to 1996, and had worked earlier at hospitals in Philadelphia, Lancaster, Pa., and Wilmington, Del.

A Mass was offered yesterday in Aston.

She is survived by a brother, Howard Schuldt of Arcadia, Fla.
