FBI, city police continue to search for boy

April 08, 2002|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

FBI agents and city police continued their search yesterday for a 2-year-old boy reported missing early last week from his West Baltimore home.

The FBI has most of its fugitive task force, about 15 agents, working on the case, spokesman Peter A. Gulotta said yesterday.

Relatives have said they last saw Christopher Pierce at his home in the 2100 block of Clifton Ave. about 7 a.m. Tuesday. He was reported missing the next afternoon.

The family has not received a ransom demand, according to Gulotta, who said the FBI has no indication that the child is in the Baltimore area or out of state.

"I would venture to say he is probably in this same general area," he said.

Gulotta said a monetary reward will be offered for information leading to the return of the child, who was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and green pajama bottoms.

"Hopefully he's safe and we get him back where he belongs," he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the city police homicide office at 410-396-2100.
