Man killed in car crash on Route 50

April 07, 2002

SALISBURY - A driver turning off Route 50 near Salisbury was killed late Friday when a truck coming the other way hit his car.

Maryland State Police said Robert Jones, 33, of Salisbury was driving a 1996 Dodge west on Route 50 about 8 p.m. when he turned across the eastbound lanes to enter Route 347.

A 2000 Chevrolet truck driven by Charles Dorman, 39, of Mount Airy hit the Dodge, forcing it off the road and into a ditch.

Jones died at the scene. Dorman and a passenger were treated at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
