Stephanie Allen scored twice to lead UMBC past host Sacred Heart, 9-5, in a Northeast Conference game yesterday.

With UMBC leading 4-3 at the half, Allen and Lauren Traber each scored a goal to push the Retrievers' lead to 6-3.

Christina Macchia scored to bring the Pioneers (3-7, 0-3) to two, but the Retrievers (4-4, 2-0) answered with goals from Shannon Gallup and Beth Milani to go on top 8-4.

Quinnipiac 10, Mount St. Mary's 4: The Braves (7-3, 1-2) scored the first five goals of the game in handing the visiting Mountaineers (6-6, 2-1) their first Northeast Conference defeat, second straight overall.

Lara Steinbraker, Addie Lewis, Erin Gargan and Kelly Moran each scored for the Mountaineers.

Jesse Rowley led Quinnipiac with four goals, and goalie Megan Matthews stopped 23 shots.
