Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southeastern District

Shots fired/arrest: A man was arrested last night after discharging a handgun about 9:30 p.m. in the 400 block of N. Rose St. No injuries were reported. Extra district police were dispatched to the scene when an angry crowd gathered while a police helicopter trained its high-power spotlight on the scene trying to locate the gun the man discarded before being arrested.

Robbery try: A man, 52, was walking in the 2500 block of Eastern Ave. near Patterson Park on Wednesday when four men, one with a handgun, demanded his money after assaulting him. Instead of complying, the man kicked the weapon from the gunman's grasp, causing all to flee.

Burglary: Savings bonds valued at $1,000 and $325 were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 2300 block of E. Fayette St. by someone who entered through a rear door.

Stolen vehicle: A green 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck with tags M639713 was stolen Wednesday in the 4900 block of Eastern Ave.

Theft from vehicle: An auto survival kit valued at $60 was stolen Wednesday from a 2001 Dodge Dakota parked in the 900 block of Low St.

Theft from vehicle: A jacket and several personal checks -- all of unknown value -- were stolen Wednesday from a 1988 Dodge van parked in the 4300 block of E. Lombard St.

Theft: A red 24-inch bicycle valued at $700 that was left unattended in the 400 block of S. Broadway in Fells Point was stolen Wednesday.

Northwestern District

Robbery: A 42-year-old man was waiting for a bus in the 5300 block of Preakness Way about 7:30 p.m. after attending opening day at Pimlico Race Course when two men, one who implied he was armed with a handgun, knocked him to the ground and robbed him of $100.

Stolen vehicle: A burgundy 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier with tags EAM 612 was stolen Wednesday in the 3100 block of Leighton Ave.

Stolen vehicle: A blue 1993 Plymouth with New Jersey tags KY9 585 was stolen Wednesday in the 3800 block of Strathmore Ave.

Southwestern District

Robbery: A man and his wife, both 25, were walking in the 2500 block of Ashton St. about 5 p.m. Wednesday when a gunman robbed them of nearly $300. The gunman escaped in a 1988 Lincoln with tags 72735A that was driven by a second man.

Burglary: A laptop computer valued at more than $1,000 was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 4700 block of Melbourne Ave.

Northern District

Vandalism: Someone used a sharp object to slash one tire on each of three cars parked in the 800 block of W. 33rd St. on Wednesday night.

Southern District

Theft: A camera, ring, cash, clothing and a wallet -- all valued at more than $1,000 -- were stolen Wednesday from a Honda Civic parked in a garage at the Towers at Harbor Court Condominiums in the first block of E. Lee St.

Baltimore County

Garrison Precinct

Murder attempt: Police were seeking a man who entered Cutz International, a barbershop in the 8100 block of Liberty Road, about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday armed with a pistol-grip shotgun and fired at a customer getting a haircut. The customer, who was not hit, returned fire with a .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun. Police said the assailant drove off in a car that was later found abandoned in Woodlawn. Police said the interior of the car showed no signs the driver had been shot.

Robbery/arrests: Four youths were arrested early Wednesday and charged with robbing a man of $50 at gunpoint in the 100 block of Chartley Drive about 1 a.m. Tuesday. Two of the suspects were charged as adults; two others were charged as juveniles.

Parkville Precinct

Robbery/arrest: An 18-year-old man was arrested and police were seeking two others in the assault and robbery of a man, 23, as he was about to enter an apartment building in the first block of Peabody Court about 2 a.m. Tuesday. Charged with robbery and assault was Joseph Heinze of the 9600 block of Harford Road.

Towson Precinct

Burglary: Jewelry and a watch -- all valued at $440 -- were stolen Wednesday from an apartment in the 6900 block of Lachlin Circle.

Woodlawn Precinct

Burglary: An undisclosed sum of money was stolen Wednesday from a bedroom dresser drawer of a house in the 3400 block of Aurora Lane by someone who entered the dwelling through the front door.
