Shannon Wilson scored an unassisted goal with 1:37 left to break a tie and give No. 19 Ohio State a 12-11 victory over No. 7 Maryland in women's lacrosse action yesterday at Ludwig Field in College Park.

In a game played in a driving rainstorm, the Terps (6-4) allowed five unanswered goals to start the game. Megan Mirick, who would score a game-high five goals, and Regina Oliver each had a pair during the run.

Courtney Hobbs scored the first of her three goals with 15:10 left in the first half to put the Terps on the board, but the Buckeyes (7-1) scored three of the final five goals of the half and carried an 8-3 lead into intermission.

Ohio State scored the first two goals of the second half to take a 10-3 lead, but spent the rest of the game trying to hold off the Terps.

Hobbs and Sonia Judd each netted a pair of goals in a five-goal Maryland run, and the Terps crept within 10-8.

The Terps then answered a Mirick goal with three straight goals, before Wilson got the deciding score.
