Chamber to hold Power Breakfast at Bowie stadium

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Power Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. April 24 at Prince George's Stadium, home of the Bowie Baysox, 4101 Crain Highway, Bowie.

Lise D'Andrea, president of Customer Service Experts Inc., Patricia Minnigh, proprietor of keepingbooks.com, and Lisa Vullo, owner of Wild Thing will give presentations. Door prizes will be awarded at the end of the breakfast.

Cost at the door is $22 for members, $27 for nonmembers. Information: 410-286-7676.

Volunteers needed for South County Festival

The Southern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce needs volunteers for the South County Festival scheduled for June 8 at Herrington Harbour North Marina in Tracey's Landing.

Volunteers are needed for all events of the festival, including face-painting, arts and crafts, blowing up balloons and overseeing games. They will receive free admission to the festival; student volunteers can earn community service hours.

Interactive developer: Crosby Marketing Communications recently announced that Justin Grasso has joined the agency as an interactive developer. Grasso will be responsible for overseeing several operations, including development of Web sites, interactive CDs and online promotions, as well as multimedia presentations. Grasso has a bachelor's degree in graphic design from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Phone techniques: The Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a business-to-business seminar, "Phone Answering and Other Powerful Phone Tips," at 8:30 a.m. April 18 at the chamber office, 7477 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Suite 201, Glen Burnie. Information: 410-766-8282.

Marketing workshop: SCORE Chapter 390 and the Small Business Administration will conduct a workshop for small businesses, "Developing a Marketing Strategy," from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 23 at the YWCA, 1517 Ritchie Highway, Arnold. Housing grants: The Live Near Your Work program, which provides $3,000 grants to help people buy a house near their place of work, has been expanded to include state employees.
