New Covenant seminar to address parental skills, Bible

New Covenant Church, 365 Jones Station Road in Arnold, is planning a seminar, "Successful Parenting Through Biblical Principles," for April 5-7.

The Rev. Chris Peeler of New Covenant Church will lead the seminar, which is for parents of children of all ages. Child care will be available for children ages 10 and younger.

The seminars will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. April 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 6 and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 7. New information will be covered each day, so attendance at all sessions is recommended.

Wood Memorial offering course on Gospel of John

Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. in Severna Park, is offering a course, "John, A Thematic Study," which will examine the Gospel of John.

The course will be held Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. from April 7 to June 23. Greg Hubert and Tom Page Jr., adult leaders at the church, will teach the course.

Classes for children are offered while the classes meet.

Good Friday: A community ecumenical Good Friday Service will be held from noon to 3 p.m. today at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 400 Benfield Road in Severna Park. The event, sponsored by the Severna Park Area Ministry Group, will include "Seven Words of Jesus from the Cross." Child care will be available from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Offerings received will be contributed to the Severna Park Assistance Network, an ecumenical agency that helps people in need. Prayer vigil: A 33-hour prayer vigil will begin immediately after the 7:30 p.m. Good Friday service at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 400 Benfield Road. Members and guests can participate in one-hour prayer segments to celebrate the period between Christ's crucifixion and Resurrection. A prayer box will be available for prayer requests. Stations of the Cross: Stations of the Cross and benediction will be held at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. today at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Roman Catholic Church in Riviera Beach. Information: 410- 255-8353.

Easter services: Galilee Lutheran Church, 4652 Mountain Road, Pasadena, has announced its schedule of services for Easter Sunday. Services will be held at 6 a.m., 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., all with communion. Information: 410-255- 8236.

Evangelist meetings: Anchor Baptist Church will hold spring evangelist meetings Sunday to Wednesday at 320 Pasadena Road, Millersville. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, and at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The Rev. Joe Mark will speak.

Church choir: The Adult Choir of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church will perform at 8 p.m. April 19 at the church, 611 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. in Severna Park. The performance will include Vaughan Williams' "Old Hundredth Psalm Tune," Mozart's "Laudate Dominum" and other psalm settings. The concert is free and open to the public. Information: 410-647-2550.

Spaghetti dinner: St. John Lutheran Church, 226 Washburn Ave. at Third Street in Brooklyn, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. April 20.
