Hearing on Mayo pupils to continue April 15

After hearing six hours of testimony Tuesday night on the relocation of Mayo Elementary School pupils, the Anne Arundel County school board decided to continue the hearing April 15.

The board is weighing an appeal from Mayo parents upset with the superintendent's recommendation that the children be moved to Annapolis Middle School while a new Mayo school is built.

Parents are asking that their children be sent to Davidsonville Elementary or Southern High School.

Baltimore man killed in Glen Burnie crash

A Baltimore man was killed in Glen Burnie yesterday morning when he lost control of his car and it struck a tree, Anne Arundel County police said.

Jerome Theodore Croswell Sr., 68, of the 800 block of E. 33rd St. was southbound on Ritchie Highway near Aquahart Road about 8:30 a.m. when the Cadillac he was driving veered off the road and hit a tree, police said.

Croswell died a short time later at North Arundel Hospital, police said. Investigators said they think a medical condition might have caused the man to lose control of his car.
