Metaphors for memory and desire, at Montage

Youngmi Song is a Korean-born emerging artist who has been living and working in Baltimore since 1996. Her dreamlike monoprint collages are on view at Montage Gallery in Federal Hill through April 13.

The works are metaphors for memory and desire, with forms that seem magically liberated from the heavy tug of gravity.

In addition to the Montage show, Song will have an exhibition of her paper sculptures at the Maryland Institute College of Art's Decker Gallery beginning tomorrow. That show runs through April 7.

Montage Gallery is at 925 S. Charles St. Hours are Tuesdays-Saturdays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 410-752-1125. MICA's Decker Gallery is in Mount Royal Station, Cathedral Street and Mount Royal Avenue. Hours are Mondays-Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sundays noon to 5 p.m. Call 410-225-2300.
