Howard man dies after crash

driver charged with DWI

A Howard County man died early Saturday from injuries he suffered when the car in which he was a passenger ran off Jessup Road and overturned after striking a tree in the front yard of a house, Anne Arundel police reported.

Alvin C. Lewis Jr., 23, of the 8300 block of Barkwood Court in Jessup, Howard County, was driving a 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse west in the 2800 block of Jessup Road about 10:20 p.m. Friday when he lost control of the car, which landed on its roof, police said.

Bradley Eugene Lester, 28, of the 8200 block of Washington Blvd. in Jessup suffered multiple internal injuries and died shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Lewis, who suffered minor injuries, was charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.
