Loyola men score first 15, rout Sacred Heart

Sophomore attackman Stephen Brundage had three goals and three assists yesterday, and Loyola scored the first 15 goals to cruise past visiting Sacred Heart, 17-7, in a Colonial Athletic Association men's lacrosse game at Curley Field.

The Greyhounds (5-0, 3-0) led 15-0 before Chris Swier got Sacred Heart (2-3, 0-1) on the board 1:32 into the fourth quarter.

Dickinson 7, St. Mary's 6: Senior midfielder Matt McFarland (Severn) scored the winning goal with 3:17 left to break a 6-6 tie and lift the visiting Red Devils (2-4) over the Seahawks (1-6).

Women

Villa Julie 13, Elizabethtown 8: The Mustangs (2-4) defeated the visiting Blue Jays (0-4) behind three goals apiece from Lynn Mann (Bel Air), Laura Higgs (Overlea) and Molly McCaffery (Perry Hall).

St. Mary's 19, Catholic 6: Freshman midfielder Sarah Sloane scored six goals and added three assists to lead the host Seahawks (5-0, 2-0) over the Cardinals in a Capital Athletic Conference game.
