Brandon Berlett

Eastern Tech, pitcher/first base

Second-team All-Metro as a junior, he was 5-0 with a 1.93 ERA. He also hit .464 with 28 RBIs, 17 runs and four home runs.

Scott Gehring

Gilman, pitcher

The ace right-hander of the Greyhounds' pitching staff, Gehring was 5-3 with a 1.33 ERA last spring as a junior.

Walter Hill

St. Paul's, outfielder

Hill batted .326 with 11 stolen bases for last year's Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference runner-up.

Matt Lewis

Broadneck, outfielder

An All-Anne Arundel County catcher last spring, Lewis moves to center field for his senior year. He batted .463 with 11 extra-base hits.

Jason Lively

Arundel, pitcher/infielder

The catalyst of last year's Class 4A state champion, Lively was the only All-Metro underclassman. He was 10-0, including the state final victory in relief over Dulaney.

Brad Loveless

Centennial, pitcher/DH

The right-hander went 3-0 in the state tournament last season to finish 8-3 with a 2.48 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 45 innings. He also batted .381.

Joe Peeler

Mount St. Joseph, pitcher/infielder

He is ready to become Gaels' ace. Last year as a junior, he went 6-2 with a 1.52 ERA in 50 2/3 innings, striking out 56.

Jon Taylor

Broadneck, infielder

Out last season because of knee surgery, Taylor has the potential to become the metro area's top home run hitter.

Keith Williams

Glen Burnie, outfielder

He was All-County as a sophomore hitting .389 with 10 extra-base hits and 20 RBIs. His hitting fell off last year, but he has drawn interest from pro scouts.

Chip Ziegler

Arundel, pitcher/DH

Anne Arundel County's Player of the Year in 2000, Ziegler was academically ineligible last spring. Back for his senior year, he makes the No. 1 Wildcats very strong.
