Novia Brown

Milford Mill, sprints

In her first indoor season this past winter, she won three state gold medals -- 300, 500 and 1,600-meter relay -- as the Millers captured the Class 3A-2A title.

Lauren Centrowitz

The All-Anne Arundel County Performer of the Year in cross country and indoor track, she upset Dulaney's Tenke Zoltani in the 1,600 in the 4A-3A outdoor meet.

Jeanette Curtis

Mount Hebron, hurdles

After a disappointing last spring, Curtis looks to rebound. Her indoor season -- county, region and state titles indoors in the 55 hurdles -- indicates that she will.

Maleka Diggs

Annapolis, high jump

Diggs posted an area-best height of 5 feet, 6 inches in the indoor high jump. She was the only Anne Arundel girl to win a 3A-2A state title.

Mariama Gondo

The All-Baltimore City/County Performer of the Year last spring, she finished second in the 55 at the state indoor meet.

Second-team All-Metro last year, she recorded her best time (5:12.10) in the 1,600 to place fourth at the 4A-3A state indoor meet.

Shade Smith

Hammond, sprints

She missed last season's region and state meets with a hamstring pull, but showed her capability in the indoor season by winning the 55 at the 3A-2A state meet.

Angie Watkins

Part of a 3A state title team, she ran on a gold-medal 800 relay and was runner-up in the 400 after winning the Howard County 400.

Winter posted the best area pole vault of 10 feet in the indoor season to take second place at the 3A-2A state championships. She also won county and regional titles.

Tenke Zoltani

Dulaney, distance

She recovered from leg surgery quickly enough last spring to compete at the 4A state meet; the first-team All-Metro choice won the 3,200 and finished second in the 1,600.
