Mike Brown

Annapolis, hurdles, sprints

He posted area-best indoor times of 7.4 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles and 6.2 in the 55 - both Anne Arundel County meet records. He won both events at states.

Jabari Bush

Mervo, sprints

His best event is the 400, where he finished second at the 4A state outdoor meet. He's also a mainstay on the Mustangs' relay teams.

Brian DeVaul

Arundel, high jump

DeVaul soared an area-best 6 feet, 8 1/2 inches during the indoor season. He hit 6-6 to win the Anne Arundel title and finish runner-up at states.

Kelley Jackson

Mervo, shot put

The area's premier shot-putter finished second against the state outdoor and indoor competition.

Rob Ludwig

Mount St. Joseph, pole vault

The premier pole-vaulter in the metro area, he cleared 13-6 in three indoor meets. His biggest disappointment was breaking his pole and losing the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association title.

Izudin Mehmedovic

Oakland Mills, distance

Coming off an indoor season in which he won three state titles, the "Bosnian Flash" seeks to improve upon his 1A state runner-up finishes in the 1,600 and 3,200.

Josh Perry

McDonogh, 800

Undefeated in the indoor regular season in the 800, Perry posted the area's best time of 1:56.3 at the MIAA championships.

Shane Stroup

River Hill, distance

Last season's Performer of the Year, the senior is tuning up for another record-breaking season. He ran a 4:12.03 in the 1,600 last spring, a 3A state record and one of the top 10 times in the nation.

Chris Wright

Mount St. Joseph, distance

A four-year captain in cross county, indoor and outdoor track, he holds school marks in the 800, 1,200, 1,500, 1,600, 3,000, 3,200, mile and two-mile.

Frankie Wright

Mervo, jumps

He won the triple jump at the 4A-3A state meet last spring and finished fourth in the long jump.
