A 17-year-old Carroll County youth was seriously injured Saturday when he drove his car off the road and into a parked car and the side of a house in Eldersburg, state police reported.

The youth was driving north in the 5600 block of Bartholow Road when he lost control of his car, missed a curve in the road, and slammed into a parked car and a house, said Sgt. J.W. Long.

Although at least one person was at home at the time of the accident, no other injuries were reported, Long said.

The driver, whose name was not released pending a police investigation, was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was in critical condition last night, police said.
