Social club invites young professionals to become members

The Young Anne Arundel Professionals, a social club primarily for singles, is seeking members.

The club helps young singles make new friends and share ideas.

BWI business group plans breakfast meeting

The officers and board of directors of the BWI Business Partnership will hold a Spirit of Success Breakfast Meeting next week.

The meeting will begin at 7:45 a.m. March 27 at the Marriott Hotel, 1743 W. Nursery Road, Linthicum. Jack L. Williams, president and chief operating officer of Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruise Lines, will speak.

The cost is $25 for nonmembers.

Seminar set for March 27 to explore sales techniques

SCORE Chapter No. 390 will conduct a one-day workshop on innovative sales techniques.

"Easy Steps to Selling Anyone Can Use" is designed to teach participants how to sell without using the persistent pressure techniques of traditional selling. Art Savage, a sales consultant who has been a corporate senior sales and marketing executive, will lead the seminar.

The workshop will be from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 27 at the YWCA, 1517 Ritchie Highway in Arnold. The fee is $45.

Luncheon scheduled on public relations

The Annapolis/Anne Arundel Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America will hold a luncheon meeting at noon March 28 at London Town House and Gardens, 839 Londontowne Road in Edgewater.

Topics such as the promition of heritage tourism will be addressed by Karen Engelke, director of the Annapolis, London Town and South County Heritage Area, a partnership of the county, the state, the city and private businesses that promotes tourism.

The cost is $18 for society members and $20 for nonmembers.

Job expo: A Spring Job Expo will be held from noon to 4 p.m. March 28 in the cafeteria of Anne Arundel Community College's Arnold campus. More than 60 employers, including Adecco Employment Services, Allfirst Bank and Foot Locker Inc., are expected to attend. Last year, more than 2,000 job seekers attended a similar event. Housing grants: The Live Near Your Work program, which provides $3,000 grants to help people buy a house close their place of work, has been expanded to include state employees.
