The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-3700.

East Columbia

Cradlerock Way: 7200 block, Owen Brown. Someone robbed Columbia Mobil Car Care Center in the village center about 6 p.m. March 5. A second person stood by the door while a male described as a teen-ager of medium build pulled out a handgun and demanded money. The two fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

West Columbia

Southern Star Terrace: 5000 block, Harper's Choice. Two teen-age males attempted to rob a man walking from his vehicle to his residence about 7:40 p.m. Monday, police said. One teen pointed a handgun at the man and demanded his keys while the other waited on the parking lot. The pair fled when the man yelled for help.

Moonfall Way and West Running Brook: Wilde Lake. A boy was robbed of his electric motor scooter when three men drove up alongside him Thursday afternoon, grabbed it and fled.

Ellicott City/Elkridge

Baltimore National Pike: 10000 block, Ellicott City. Someone stole cash from an H&R Block office Thursday night or Friday morning.

Bell Inn Lane: 10100 block, Ellicott City. The state fire marshal's office determined that a Friday blaze at a residence was caused by smoking materials discarded on a wooden deck. The fire caused about $150,000 worth of damage to the house and took about an hour to control. No one was injured.

Frederick Road and St. John's Lane: Ellicott City. Three people - all armed with handguns - robbed Pizza Boli's late Thursday. They left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Ducketts Lane: 7100 block, Elkridge. A male and female accosted a pizza deliverer from Pizza Palace in Arbutus as he tried to make a delivery March 6. The man was able to get away from the pair.

N. Laurel/Savage/Jessup

Washington Blvd.: 10000 block, North Laurel. A man exposed himself to a McDonald's employee as he pulled up to the drive-through window March 1. The man was driving a 2000 Dodge with District of Columbia plates.
