Arundel hospital employees honored as People Who Care

Three North Arundel Hospital employees recently won the hospital's People Who Care Award.

The winners were John Blank, who works in the information technology department, registered nurse Vivi Cullens and patient care technician Roxanne Phan.

Blank, Cullens and Phan are eligible for the Employee of the Year Award, to be presented in May. The Employee of the Year is chosen from among the 12 people who win the People Who Care Award each year.

CT scanning company to open in Annapolis

VitalView, a company offering whole-body CT scanning, will open April 2 in Annapolis.

VitalView will use the Toshiba Multislice CT Scanner to enable early detection of heart disease, and lung and colon cancers. The scanner improves CT scanning by increasing image resolution to detect small lesions.

Arundel medical center adds 13 staff members

Anne Arundel Medical Center has announced the addition of 13 members to its medical staff.

They are cardiologist Sven Ingo Ender, hospitalist Peiqing Gao, obstetrician/gynecologist Parabh Gill, radiologist Nicholas Malakis, internist Lina Murad, podiatrist Randy Smargiassi, pediatrician Rebecca Vickers, internist Timothy Woods, ophthalmologist Nano Zeringue, physicians assistants Frank DeLosso and Ella Murtha, nurse practitioner Jill Brydalski and certified nurse midwife Joanne Hasman.

AAMC's medical staff has nearly doubled in size over the past five years.
