Temple collects money for India quake relief

Greater Baltimore Temple of Finksburg has been collecting donations for the Greater Baltimore Community Project for Gujarat Earthquake Rehabilitation in India.

With the help of Gujarat Samaj of Baltimore, the Baltimore-area American and Indian community collected $110,000, which was sent to Ram Krishna Mission in India.

The money was used to construct 112 houses at Dhaneti Village, near Bhuj, Gujarat, at a cost of $64,000; and two schools in Dhaneti village at a cost of $46,000.

The housing colony opened in December. The schools opened Jan. 26.

A detailed financial report and photographs of the projects are displayed in the temple lobby.
