Taneytown toy show, auction is this weekend

Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company will hold its eighth annual toy show and auction Saturday and Sunday at the carnival grounds at Memorial Park.

The auction is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday and will feature old toys, farm toys, pedal tractors, cars and trucks, NASCAR items and other collectibles. Admission is free.

The toy show will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday and will include items similar to the auction. Admission is $2 for ages 13 and older. Food will be sold all day. Door prizes will be given away.

Fire company schedules pancake breakfast Sunday

Union Bridge Volunteer Fire Company will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon Sunday at the fire hall.

The menu will include sausage and sausage gravy, pudding and hominy, home fries, scrambled eggs, baked apples, biscuits, muffins, juice and coffee.

The cost is $5; $2 for children ages 6 to 12; and free for age 5 and younger.

Bingo banquet planned March 23 in Union Bridge

Union Bridge Volunteer Fire Company will hold a bingo banquet March 23 in the fire hall.

A buffet will be served at 6 p.m. with fried chicken, roast beef, vegetables, and dessert. Coffee and iced tea will be served all evening.

Tickets are $22.50 for the buffet and card package, in advance only.

Oysters, beef on menu at Taneytown gun club

Taneytown Rod and Gun Club will hold an oyster and pit beef feast from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 30 at the club.

The all-you-can-eat menu will include raw, fried, steamed and stewed oysters, pit beef, baked beans, sharp cheese, coleslaw, hot dogs and sauerkraut, vegetable trays, beer and soda.

Taneytown library to offer stories, crafts

The Taneytown library branch, 10 Grand Drive, will offer Year-round Family Story Time for all ages at 11 a.m. today (Ride 'em Cowboy) and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday (Abracadabra). Children age 3 and younger must be with an adult.

Drop-in Crafts for all ages (age 3 and younger with an adult) will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Children can make St. Patrick's Day and Easter crafts.

"Bedtime Stories: Abracadabra" for all ages (children age 3 and younger with an adult) will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
