Last month was the driest February in Baltimore since record-keeping began in 1871, according to the National Weather Service.

Only 0.36 inches of precipitation was recorded at Baltimore-Washington International Airport, breaking the record of 0.56 inches set in 1978.

The December-through-February period was the fourth-driest on record, with 4.28 inches of precipitation - 43 percent of the 30-year norm.
