St. Bernadette Parish plans art auction

St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Parish in Severn will hold its third annual art auction March 9 at the church, 801 Stevenson Road, Severn. Doors will open at 7 p.m. for a preview party.

Artwork for the auction is supplied by Avatar Fine Arts Gallery. Tickets are $10 per person and $15 per couple in advance, $12 per person at the door. Money raised from the event will support the church. Information: 410-969-2783.

"Wish Upon a Star": St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Severna Park will hold its eighth annual auction and dinner dance, "Wish Upon a Star," tomorrow at Sheraton Barcelo Hotel in Annapolis. The auction is the major fund-raiser for the parish. Proceeds benefit the elementary school, religious education and youth ministry programs. Information: 410-647-4884.

Soup and baked potato: St. John's Lutheran Church in Brooklyn will hold a soup and baked potato sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow at the church, 226 Washburn Ave. The sale will include soups, chili, baked potatoes, desserts and a craft show. Information: 410-355-7295.

Praise service: Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park will hold a Sunday Nite Alive Praise Service at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The service, which will be held at the church, 611 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., will include the children's musical drama Moses and the Freedom Fanatics. Musical entertainment: Chesapeake Christian Center will present a concert featuring Bell and Karen Itzel at 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the center, 7975 Tick Neck Road in Pasadena. Spaghetti dinner: The women of Community United Methodist Church of Maryland City will hold a spaghetti dinner and bake sale from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. March 5.
