A lot of folks will be going home a little lighter from Salt Lake City. Personal possessions, thousands of them, are ending up at the Winter Games lost and found, a nondescript building on the edge of downtown.
Anita Corbett says her center receives about 1,000 items a day. Each is boxed or bagged and labeled with the date and location of the find. The most common lost item? Gloves, singles or in pairs clinging to each other by a clip but separated from their mother jacket. But so far, no one has turned in a USA Roots beret.
