$36,000 to be donated to buy smoke detectors

The city Fire Department will receive a $36,000 donation today from State Farm Insurance for the purchase of smoke detectors that will be distributed to area families through 2 Save a Life Program, sponsored in part by the insurer and Channel 2 News.

The ceremony is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the firehouse at 15 S. Eutaw St.

Superintendent to address League of Women Voters

Towson -- State schools Superintendent Nancy S. Grasmick will be the speaker for the Baltimore County League of Women Voters Lecture Series at 6 p.m. Monday at Sheppard Pratt Conference Center, 6501 N. Chalres St.
