A man killed Sunday afternoon when an Infiniti Q45 crossed a median on Route 216 in North Laurel and collided with his Chrysler Cirrus was identified yesterday as Christopher Scott Miles of Pasadena, Howard County police said.

Miles, 29, of the 3600 block of Chadwick Court, was traveling east on Route 216 about 12:45 p.m. Sunday when the westbound Infinity crossed a grassy median and sent the Cirrus careening off the roadway into a ditch on the eastbound side of the road. Howard County police said excessive speed on the wet roadway was the preliminary factor in the accident.

Miles was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was pronounced dead about 2 p.m. Sunday. Police had withheld his name until Anne Arundel County police notified his family.

The Infiniti driver, Sherry Turner, 23, of Germantown, and a passenger, Flora Simmons, 21, also of Germantown, were taken to the Shock Trauma for treatment.

Turner was discharged Sunday, but was readmitted yesterday and was listed in serious condition, a nursing coordinator said. Simmons was discharged Sunday evening, the nursing coordinator said.
