February 10, 2002

Maryland State Police are seeking information about the reported robbery of a convenience store just outside Westminster by a masked man armed with a handgun and a pocket knife.

The incident occurred about 5 p.m. Thursday at High's Dairy Store in the 400 block of East Main St., police said. A tall man wearing a long black coat, gloves and a dark mask announced the robbery and took out the knife, cutting the arm of a woman who worked in the store. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled, police said.

A search of the area by state troopers, Carroll County sheriff's deputies, Westminster police officers and a police dog unit did not locate a suspect. The clerk was treated and released for a small cut at Carroll County General Hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Westminster barracks of the state police at 410- 386-3000.
