A guitar `Dream Team'

The Brazilian Guitar Quartet, known as the "Dream Team" in Brazil, will present a concert at 8 p.m. Saturday at Howard Community College's Smith Theatre, under the auspices of Candlelight Concerts.

The four guitarists are Grammy nominee Paul Galbraith, brothers Edelton and Everton Gloeden, and Tadeu do Amaral. During the quartet's first two U.S. tours, the musicians appeared in New York at the 92nd Street Y, in Washington (broadcast on National Public Radio's Performance Today) and other venues.

Their compact disc Essencia do Brasil was chosen as one of the "Best Recordings of 1999" by Audiophile Audition.

The program will include works by Bach, Villa-Lobos and others. Tickets are $24; $18 for senior citizens. Students pay $9.
