Army clarinetists to play at Historic Oakland on Feb. 24

The U.S. Army Field Band Clarinet Quartet will perform at 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at Historic Oakland, 5430 Vantage Point Road.

The quartet will perform works by Brahms, Piazzola, Debussy, Bartok and the Beatles.

Dessert and coffee will be served. Admission is free but reservations are required.

Atholton High to hold meetings for students

Atholton High School will hold a meeting for incoming 10th-grade students and their parents at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the school auditorium.

A meeting for incoming ninth-graders will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 19.

Recreation and Parks offers event for seniors

The Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks will sponsor a "Heart of My Heart Party," for seniors age 55 and older, at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at Hickory Ridge Apartments.

Entertainment, games and refreshments are planned.

Valentine's Day program for kids offered at library

The Central Library, 10375 Little Patuxent Parkway, will sponsor a Valentine's Day program for children ages 3-5, "Hearts and Hugs," from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Feb. 13.

Mah-jongg lessons to be held Thursdays

The Harper's Choice Community Association, 5440 Old Tucker Row, will offer mah-jongg lessons for beginners from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays, beginning tomorrow.
