UM weekly glance

February 01, 2002|By Gary Lambrecht

A look back: The Terps blew out Florida State on Sunday, 84-63, then rallied to win at Virginia, 91-87, last night.

A look ahead: Maryland plays host to North Carolina State on Sunday, then has a week off before traveling to North Carolina on Feb. 10.

Of note: The Terps own a 13-game home winning streak dating to last season, including a 10-0 start of the current season.

Worth watching: The next stop for Allegany College 6-foot-8 sophomore forward Jamar Smith looks like Maryland. The Terps have one more scholarship to give to next year's incoming class, and there is strong speculation that Smith, one of the top players for Allegany (18-2), will sign a letter of intent in April.

By the numbers: Going into last night's game, Maryland point guard Steve Blake was averaging 7.1 assists and 3.3 turnovers against ACC teams.
