Four local agencies honored for marketing hospitality

1,500 entries submitted in global competition

Four local agencies have won awards for advertising and public relations work in an annual competition by Hospitality & Sales Marketing Association International, which this year drew 1,500 entries from more than 46 countries.

The awards from the global organization of hospitality professionals were presented in New York on Tuesday.

The Campbell Group Inc. won 17 advertising awards, including three gold awards for client Six Continents Hotels Inc. and a platinum and a gold award for the Baltimore Zoo. Other work that won awards was for the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel, Inter-Continental Hotels New York and the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau.

Davis Media Group, a Baltimore advertising agency, won 10 awards, including three gold, for client Best Western International.

Eisner Petrou and Associates, a public relations agency with offices in Baltimore and Washington, won one gold award and two others for a July 4th history survey campaign on behalf of The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.

Trahan, Burden & Charles Inc., a Baltimore advertising and public relations agency, won three awards, including two gold, for its work with Foxwoods Resort Casino.
