Department of Aging preparing directory of senior services

The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging is preparing its 2002-2003 Senior Services Directory.

The directory, due out in early May, will contain information about programs and services available to help seniors maintain their health and independence. Advertisers and volunteer and government agencies that deal with aging-related issues will be listed.

The free directory will be available at libraries, senior centers, supermarkets and other locations. Publication and distribution is financed by advertising revenue. A percentage of the profits from ad sales is donated to Friends of Arundel Seniors.

Nominations sought for nutrition award

The Maryland Department of Aging is accepting nominations for Senior Nutrition Site Manager of the Year.

The award is open to volunteers and paid employees who bring dedication, knowledge and ability to their jobs at Maryland Senior Nutrition Program meal sites. Past award recipients include site managers from Calvert Pines Senior Center in 1999, Cambridge Senior Center and Victory Villa Senior Center in 2000, and Catonsville Senior Center and Highland Senior Center last year.
