A 69-year-old woman died, and a mother and young daughter were injured yesterday evening in a two-car collision on U.S. 1 in Fallston, state police reported.

Killed in the crash about 5:20 p.m. was Thelma Hagegeorge of the 1300 block of Grandview Court, Fallston. Police said she was driving a 1990 Toyota Corolla north near Wilgus Road when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound 1992 Ford Escort driven by Amy Marie Bowden, 30, of Bel Air.

Hagegeorge, who ran a snack shop in the Blaustein Building in downtown Baltimore, was dead at the scene, said Tfc. Charlie Robbins. Bowden and her 2-year-old daughter were flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center with injuries that he said were not life-threatening.

Both drivers wore seat belts, and the child had been secured in a rear child safety seat, he noted.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
