HOWARD CRIME REPORT

The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-3700.

East Columbia

Stevens Forest Road: 5800 block, Oakland Mills. A male wearing a heavy coat with fur trim stole someone's wallet, cell phone, leather jacket, car keys and vehicle Thursday night. Later, an officer pulled over the stolen vehicle and arrested a passenger, but the driver escaped on foot into the woods.

West Columbia

Gerfalcon Road: 5700 block, Wilde Lake. Intruders entered a residence by breaking a basement window Jan. 15. Once they were inside, a motion-sensor alarm was activated. No property was taken, and the homeowner reported seeing an 18- to 20-year-old male, a middle school-age boy and a middle school-age girl leave the property.

Ellicott City/Elkridge

White Rose Way: 7100 block, Ellicott City. A homeowner heard a noise just after midnight Jan 15. Later that day, he discovered two antique rifles and a cell phone were missing. No signs of forced entry were found.

Amberton Drive: 6600 block, Elkridge. Someone broke the front door to Flea Market World on Thursday and took four watches and 300 grams of silver.

Augustine Ave.: 5900 block, Elkridge. Someone entered a detached shed Thursday night and took a 2001 Honda XR50 dirt bike.

Deep Run Parkway: 6500 block, Elkridge. A mobile home was broken into Thursday night, and a television, videocassette recorder, digital video disc player and stereo were taken. No signs of forced entry were found.
