Home Depot opens a new store in Pasadena

The Home Depot has opened a new store at 66 Mountain Road in Pasadena.

The 102,000-square-foot store, which opened Jan. 10, will employ about 200 people and offer more than 50,000 products and specialty services.

The store will offer free weekly how-to clinics on topics such as windows, flooring and painting techniques. Customers also can participate in Home Depot University, an advanced home improvement learning series.

Home Depot was founded in 1978 and operates 1,327 stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, Chile and Argentina. The store's business hours are Monday through Saturday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Small businesses: The U.S. Small Business Administration and Anne Arundel Economic Development Corp. will hold a workshop on financing a small business tomorrow at Anne Arundel Community College. The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 121 of Building K at the college. Sessions are free, but space is limited. Advance registration is required. State legislators to speak: Sen. Robert R. Neall and Del. Michael E. Busch will address the noon luncheon meeting of the Annapolis/Anne Arundel Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) on Thursday in the Miller Senate Office Building, Presidents Conference Center, West One. People

Engineer joins: Shelley Corwin has joined McCrone Inc. as a design engineer. Corwin, who received her bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Maryland, is involved in the design of civil site development projects in Anne Arundel County. McCrone Inc. is an Annapolis-based engineering, land planning and surveying firm.

Director named: Jim Nehman has been named director of business planning and development at RGII Technologies. Nehman received his bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Maryland and his master's degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. He was awarded the Navy Superior Civilian Service Award in 1989 and 1993 and the Secretary of the Navy Distinguished Civilian Service Medal in 2000. RGII, a computer systems and management consulting firm, has headquarters in Annapolis.
