Lighthouse celebration at marine museum

Follow the lure of the lighthouse Saturday to the Calvert Marine Museum's fifth annual "Winter Lights: A Celebration of Chesapeake Bay Lighthouses." Throughout the all-day festival at the museum on Solomons Island, visitors can tour Drum Point Lighthouse, one of only three remaining cottage-type screwpile lighthouses in the Chesapeake Bay, and Cove Point Light, which has served mariners on the Chesapeake Bay and Patuxent River for nearly 170 years. There also will be displays and video tours of lighthouses from the upper to lower bay and its tributaries, book signings, slide presentations and children's activities.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some activities are free; others, including lighthouse tours, require museum admission of $2-$5. Call 410-326-2042.
