Carroll driver dies in crash on Md. 140

A Carroll County motorist was killed yesterday afternoon when his car was struck by a truck as he entered Westminster Pike -Route 140 - near the community of Nob Hill.

The victim's name was withheld pending notification of family members.

Police said the victim, believed to be in his 40s, was leaving the 1400 block of Gores Mill Road with the green light about 4:40 p.m. and was about to turn left to go west on the pike when the driver of an eastbound truck ran the red light and struck the victim's vehicle.

Police said the victim suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
