One man was fatally shot and another wounded last night in East Baltimore, across the street from a burial vault firm.
Police said the men - whose names were not available - were in the 1900 block of Aisquith St., across from the Pyramid Burial Vault Co., about 8:15 p.m. when an unknown man fired shots at them, hitting one in the head and the other in the right leg.
Both were taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where the man shot in the head died about 9 p.m. The other victim was admitted for treatment.

Body found in stream identified; man was shot
A man whose body was found Saturday afternoon in a stream in Leakin Park was identified yesterday as 21-year-old Adrian Anthony Jenkins, and city police said he had been shot.
Jenkins, of the 2700 block of Tivoly Ave., was reportedly last seen alive with friends early Saturday near Mondawmin Mall. Homicide Detective William Ritz said his body - partially submerged in the stream -was spotted shortly before 1 p.m. that afternoon by an off-duty city police officer driving in the 4600 block of Wetheredsville Road.
Jenkins lived with his girlfriend who was about to report him missing when the body was found, Ritz said. Anyone with information about Jenkins' death was asked to call Ritz or Detective Richard Purtell at 410-396-2100.
`911 Angel' touring convoy plans stop at fire station
The "911 Angel Firefighters' Convoy" - a touring group heading to New York City with copies of a recorded tribute song to victims of the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks - has planned a stop in Baltimore this morning at the Steadman fire station, 15 S. Eutaw St.
Texas singer-songwriter Becky Adams is expected to sing her "911 Angel" song - a version of Sarah McLachlan's 1997 hit "Angel," rewritten by the performer and John Taylor of Bedford, Texas - at a free welcoming ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
The group has been visiting cities along the way to give firefighters an opportunity to join the convoy, which includes fire department vehicles from several of its stops and is to arrive in New York tomorrow to present 15,000 copies of "911 Angel" to city officials. The ceremony is open to the public.
Man, 27, being sought in fatal shooting Nov. 4
A 27-year-old man is being sought in the fatal shooting last month of his estranged wife's 25-year-old boyfriend, city police said yesterday.
James "Jay" Michael Johnson of the 200 block of S. Dallas Court is charged in a warrant with first-degree murder in the death of Matthew Boyd of the 600 block of Cator Ave. Johnson is accused of entering his estranged wife's home in the 4200 block of Parkton St. on Nov. 4 and shooting Boyd in the head.
Anyone with information about Johnson's whereabouts is asked to call Detective Craig Williams of the city's Warrant Apprehension Task Force at 410-637-8970.

Public works agency urges recycling of telephone books
TOWSON - Baltimore County Department of Public Works encourages residents to recycle old telephone books.
Old phone books may be placed with "mixed paper" for residential pickup of recyclables or left at the county's four drop-off locations: 10300 York Road, Cockeysville; 8737 Liberty Road, Randallstown; 4500 block of Hollins Ferry Road, Halethorpe; and 11500 block of Pulaski Highway, White Marsh.

Health Department to offer influenza, pneumonia shots
TOWSON - Baltimore County Department of Health will offer two more opportunities for people age 65 and older and others in high-risk health categories to get vaccinated against influenza and pneumonia.
Shots will be offered from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Eastern Family Resource Center, 9100 Franklin Square Drive, and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 17 at Woodlawn Health Center, 1811 Woodlawn Drive.
Flu shots cost $10 and pneumonia shots cost $17. Both are covered by Medicare Part B. Information: 410-887-2723.
Baltimore Symphonic Band to present concert Dec. 18
CATONSVILLE - The Baltimore Symphonic Band will perform holiday music Dec. 18 as part of the Community Concert Series at Charlestown Retirement Community, 719 Maiden Choice Lane.
