UM weekly glance

November 30, 2001|By Gary Lambrecht

Last week: The Terps slipped to No. 5 and responded with a 77-53 victory over Delaware State on Saturday, and a huge 76-63 win over visiting No. 2 Illinois on Tuesday.

The next week: Maryland takes on Princeton in the opening round of the BB&T Classic at the MCI Center in Washington on Sunday. With a victory, the Terps will advance to Monday night's championship game against the winner of Sunday's George Washington-Connecticut game.

Of note: Maryland is going after its third BB&T crown in the past four years.

Worth watching: Can someone besides Juan Dixon (above) make a foul shot with any consistency?

By the numbers: Opponents are shooting just 35.4 percent against Maryland through five games. The Terps have allowed opponents to shoot only 26.2 percent from three-point range.
