The theme for this year's Carroll County Farm Museum holiday tour, which starts Friday, is a bit different from past motifs.

"An Invitation to a Carroll Hunt" will feature hunt-themed decorations and foods. A blessing of the hounds will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 8. Carrollton Hounds hunt club will be on the grounds until 2 p.m. dressed in hunting attire.

The holiday tour will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Dec. 7; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 8; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 2 and 9.

Students will perform holiday music as visitors tour the decorated farmhouse. Artisans will demonstrate old-time skills in the living history center. Porcelain dolls from the Miss Carroll Doll Study Club collection will be displayed in the farmhouse.

A tree-lighting ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday. Participants will sing Christmas carols as the tree is lighted.

Santa Claus will visit with children in his workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays; from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays; and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.

Fresh poinsettias will be sold and wagon rides around the grounds will be featured.

Food from the summer kitchen will include a hunt stew that forms a traditional part of a hunt breakfast.

For the second year, Homespun Harmony will hold a Christmas craft show in the reception barn from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. A large selection of crafts, gifts and decorations will be offered.

Admission is $1; children younger than age 6 will be admitted free with a paying adult.
