Area groups to serve holiday meals

A number of local organizations and groups will be serving free Thanksgiving dinners this week.

Some organizations are accepting donations of food and money or are seeking volunteers. Some will provide transportation.

Baltimore City

Ames United Methodist Church, Carey and Baker streets, will serve dinner from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Information: 410- 523-5556.

Goodwill will serve dinner from noon to 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Baltimore Convention Center, 1 W. Pratt St. Guests must have a ticket, available free from Goodwill and social services agencies. Information: 410-837-1800.

St. Gregory the Great, 1542 N. Gilmor St., will serve dinner from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday. Information: Father Damien or Gloria Williams, 410-523-0061.

Baltimore's Inaugural Community Thanksgiving Dinner, organized by Bohager's, Shelly's Blossom Shop and other businesses and individuals, will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Bohager's, 701 S. Eden St. Information: Lisa Sommer, 410-563-7220.

The Bea Gaddy Family Center will serve dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Dunbar Middle School, 500 N. Caroline St. Information: 410-563-2749.
