Bowie State rolls past Cheyney, 40-6

Bowie State ended its football season on a high yesterday, defeating host Cheyney (Pa.) University, 40-6, in the Wade Wilson Classic.

The Bulldogs (7-3) jumped out to a 20-0 halftime lead. T-Wuan Prather got Bowie on the board first, blocking a punt and returning the ball 38 yards for a touchdown late in the first quarter.

With 1:53 left in the half, Kelvin Collins scored from 6 yards out, but the Bulldogs were not finished. After the defense stopped the Wolves (0-10), receiver Darnell Jeffries took a lateral and threw to Ray Hemsley for a 53-yard touchdown with 18 seconds left until halftime.
