Tractor-trailer crash on I-95 ties up traffic

Accident comes day after fatal collision on same highway

A tractor-trailer crash snarled rush-hour traffic yesterday afternoon on Interstate 95 near Abingdon -- a day after a fatal accident north of Baltimore closed a portion of the same highway.

In yesterday's crash, a tractor-trailer traveling north overturned near Exit 77 shortly after 3 p.m. when its driver veered sharply to his right to avoid a car that had cut in front of him, state police said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was briefly trapped in his cab after the accident, but sustained only minor injuries and was treated at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, police said.

The Harford County crash forced the closing of two lanes of the interstate for several hours.

On Wednesday, a Baltimore County man was killed in a morning accident in White Marsh involving a tractor-trailer, tanker truck and minivan.
